History
William Campbell, Club Captain in 1914 and the last Captain appointed for six years is credited with the design of the 12th hole. A Cambridge graduate, a scratch golfer, and an all-round sportsman, he had previous experience in golf course design. He was the stepbrother of Col. James Campbell, founder of Co. Sligo Golf Club. In 1906 it was decided to increase the number of holes at Rosses Point to eighteen. The task was entrusted to William Campbell.
