3rd Hole - Alps
Par 4 - Index 8 - 400 yards
Pro's Tip
Best target is the right corner of Curley's Yard. It is a small green so a well-positioned tee shot is important. Avoid the fall-off and bunkers on the left side of the green.
History
Originally the 4th, it was aptly named Alps, as there was an enormous bunker in the left dune 180 yards from the tee. At the Gallipoli Centenary events in Turkey in 1915, the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins referred to a letter from a young Irish soldier to his father, a member of Golf Club of Dublin, comparing the terrain “..to the Alps at Dollymount but not as high.”
